Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament 6/1

The Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament drew 51 teams, all of whom were anxious to bring their winning limit of bass to the 10:00 P.M. weigh-in.  The weather was perfect and the bass were biting as good as any angler could have hoped for, but the bigger bass, four pounds and better, or still far and few between for this time of the year.

Eleven bass weighing four pounds are better were brought to the sales, but with 102 very good anglers that amount is less than one would expect.  However, there was one bass that tipped the scales at 5.86 pounds for big bass of the tournament, which was caught by the team of Ed Snelling and Nicky Winn.
There were twenty-three 5 fish limits brought to the scales and several more limits that the teams did not weigh because their weights could not top fourteen pounds the weight needed to place.  All of the anglers reported catching a lot of 15 to 16 inch bass, but could not catch that 4 or 5 pound kicker.  The best bite continues to be plastics, jigs and spinner baits.  There is some top water action on spooks and poppers.
Free entry for next weeks Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament was drawn by the team of Don Wisdom and Kent Hughes.
