Thirty-six teams took out of PB#2 at 8:00 P.M. and returned at 7:00 A.M. for the weigh-in of the 7th Annual Buddy Bass Tournament sponsored by the Camden County Bass'rs Bass Club. The cold front that passed through the lake area the evening before made fishing enjoyable with cool temperatures the entire night.
The bite has been great the last few weeks, but Saturday night it was better than great, it was fantastic.
There were twenty-seven 5 fish limits weighed with sixteen bass weighing over 4 pounds. Seven of the bass weighed over 5 pounds with 1st. Big Bass of the tournament tipping the scales at 5.99 pounds caught by the team of Donnie Snelling and Dave Wolf. 2nd. Big Bass weighed 5.72 pounds and was caught by the team of Pete Bellington and Mitch Humlick.
Twelve of the limits weighed seventeen pounds are better, however if the total weight didn't top eighteen pounds or better the teams did not place. As in most tournaments, a kicker made all the difference.
Some anglers reported the bite was shallow, but others said they were getting bit on deeper structure. All in all, fishing was excellent the entire night.
The Camden County Bass'rs want to thank all the anglers that participated in their tournament and hope to see more anglers next year in the club's 8th Annual Buddy Bass Night Tournament.
