Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament 9/11

Last night was the year end fish-off of the Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament and the last tournament of the year.  Twenty-seven (27) teams qualified for the fish-off and were given one hour and thirty minutes additional tournament hours, 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

The weather was normal, hot and humid, but it didn't seem to effect the bass, in fact, the bite was better for most of the anglers than it has been for several weeks.  The bite for most of the anglers was slow the first hour or so, but when the sun set the bass turned on.  A couple of the teams commented that the flat heads were biting real good too.

There were eleven bass over 4 pounds weighed, which included two bass weighing 5 pounds or better.  There were six, five bass limits weighed and several teams bringing four bass to the scales.  The first place team advised that their limit came on Chompers Shakey Head jigs and worms, however, they would not give the exact locations where they caught their winning stringer.

Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournaments 8/14

There are two more Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournaments remaining,  August 21 and August 28 with the year end fish-off scheduled on September 11.  All teams that qualified for the fish-off need to be present on August 28 to draw for their boat positions immediately after the tournament weigh-in.

Last night there were twenty-five (25) teams fishing the Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament.  The cool weather reminded everyone of September and that included the bite, tough, real tough.  Most of teams reported catching only two to three keepers and not getting very many bites in the 3 1/2 hour tournament.

There were only three 5 fish limits brought to the scales and just five bass weighing four pounds are better.  Only nine teams weighed.

Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament 8/7

Over the past twenty-four hours the lake area has been drenched with twelve to fifteen inches of rain, not counting the heavy rains in surrounding areas.  This has caused the lake to rise suddenly with all kinds of debris floating and a lousey bite.

Twenty-six (26) teams showed up for the Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament despite the threat of more rain and the lake condition.  Several of the teams from the Waynesville area couldn't find a passable road to get to the lake because of the flooding conditions.

Tonight had to be the worst weigh-in in the history of the tournament.  Of the twenty-six teams, only six teams weighed bass and the weights weren't very impressive.  The bite was almost non existent.

Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament 7/31

The bite has slowed down for the second week.  Of the thirty-eight (38) teams fishing the Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament there were only six,  five fish limits brought to the scales.  Most of the anglers had three to four keepers weighing around two pounds.  There were three bass weighing 5.14 5.25 and 5.58 pounds, and only three bass weighing four pounds.

There doesn't seemed to be any clear cut pattern.  Some of the anglers are catching bass in deep brush and others shallow, six to twelve feet.

Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament 7/24

Last night there were thirty teams (30) launching out of PB#2 at 6:30 P.M. hoping to bring a five fish limit of bass to the 10:30 P.M. weigh-in.  The bite has changed since Ameren UE has reduced and some cases stopped generation.  For some anglers it seems like the bite has stopped completely, but as always there are some anglers who figured out where the bass are and the best bait to catch them.

There were four, 5 fish limits brought to the scales, which is the least amount of limits weighed in a Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament.  Most of the teams had two or three keepers and had very few bites in the three and half hour tournament.  Only four bass weighing 4 pounds and one bass weighing 5 pounds were brought to the scales, which is another first for the Wednesday night tournament.

Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament 7/17

The heat, miserable humidity and the slow bite seemed to keep a few of the regular anglers away last night.  There were just twenty-nine teams ignoring all the negatives that launched out of PB#2 for the Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament.

There were only ten limits brought to the scales and only five limits weighed.  Bass fishing has slowed down since the water temperature has neared the 90 degree mark.  Not that the bass aren't biting, it's just a little tougher trying to locate the larger bass four pounds or bigger in three and a half hours.

There were six bass four pounds or better and only one bass weighing 5.09 pounds, which was big bass of the tournament.  Quite a difference from the previous tournaments.  Regardless of the tough bite, the top four teams had nice weights ranging from sixteen to nineteen pounds.

Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament 7/10

Thirty-three (33) teams launched out of PB#2 for the Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament and the Bass Cat and Triton boat owners were hoping to win either the Bass Cat Boats Quest or Triton Gold incentive cash.

The bite slowed down tonight compared to the last two or three months, as were the amount of 4 and 5 pound bass brought to the scales.  There were only six teams with a five fish limit and only seven bass weighing 4 pounds or better.  However, there were two bass over 6 pounds weighed, which isn't to shabby for this time of year.
