Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament 7/17

The heat, miserable humidity and the slow bite seemed to keep a few of the regular anglers away last night.  There were just twenty-nine teams ignoring all the negatives that launched out of PB#2 for the Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament.

There were only ten limits brought to the scales and only five limits weighed.  Bass fishing has slowed down since the water temperature has neared the 90 degree mark.  Not that the bass aren't biting, it's just a little tougher trying to locate the larger bass four pounds or bigger in three and a half hours.

There were six bass four pounds or better and only one bass weighing 5.09 pounds, which was big bass of the tournament.  Quite a difference from the previous tournaments.  Regardless of the tough bite, the top four teams had nice weights ranging from sixteen to nineteen pounds.

1ST PLACE -- SCOTT JR. AND SCOTT SR. DANEK (NOT PIC.)
Scott, Sr. and Scott, Jr. Danek took first place with a very impressive limit weighing 19.70 pounds.  Their big bass weighed 4.97 pounds.

2ND PLACE -- ERIC AND TROY (NOT PIC.) WIETHROP

BIG BASS 5.09 LBS CAUGHT BY TROY WIETHROP
Troy and Eric Wiethrop claimed second place with another impressive stringer of five bass weighing 18.96 pounds.  Their big bass weighed 5.09 pounds for big bass of the tournament.

3RD PLACE -- TOMMY JONES AND LEON DANNETT

Leon Dannett and Tommy Jones took third place with a good limit weighing 16.82 pounds.  Their big bass weighed 4.78 pounds.

4TH PLACE-- RICK BUTLER AND BRUCE LOWRANCE

Rick Butler and Bruce Lowrance claimed fourth place with a limit that weighed 16.59 pounds, however they received a one pound deduction for a dead fish dropping their official weight to 15.59 pounds.
