Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament 7/27

Thirty-Five teams were met with 103 degree temperatures at the Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament take-off. The only thing that made conditions halfway pleasant was the 10-15 mile an hour breeze, however, if you fished between docks it was like walking into a sauna.  The surface water temperature depending on the area fished ranged between 90 to 94  degrees.

Fishing has slowed down considerably the last couple of weeks since the high temperatures moved in the mid-west and lack of generation by Ameren.  According to most of the anglers, the keeper bass they caught were in brush and were caught on a variety of baits, i.e. plastics, jigs and deep diving crank baits.

As you can see by the weights brought to the scales fishing is tough, especially for a 3 1/2 hour tournament.

There were only six bass weighing 4 pounds or better.   Big bass of the night weighed 4.56 pounds and was caught by the team of T.J. Farris and Mike Delmotte.

Free entry for next week tournament was drawn by the team of Dan Bowman and Dirk Sluyter.  Thanks Dirk for saving several bass during weigh-in!
