Over the past twenty-four hours the lake area has been drenched with
twelve to fifteen inches of rain, not counting the heavy rains in
surrounding areas. This has caused the lake to rise suddenly with all
kinds of debris floating and a lousey bite.
Twenty-six (26) teams showed up for the Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament despite the threat of more rain and the lake condition. Several of the teams from the Waynesville area couldn't find a passable road to get to the lake because of the flooding conditions.
Tonight had to be the worst weigh-in in the history of the tournament. Of the twenty-six teams, only six teams weighed bass and the weights weren't very impressive. The bite was almost non existent.
Terry Blankenship and Ron Clement claimed first place with limit of five bass weighing 13.98 pounds. Their big bass weighed 4.58 pounds.
2ND PLACE -- LEROY STENSON AND BILL WEBSTER (NOT PIC)
Leroy Stenson and Bill Webster came in second with three bass weighing 9.37 pounds. Their big bass weighed 5.33 pounds, which was good for big bass of the tournament and the only bass caught weighing five pounds or better.
3RD PLACE -- GARY SHULTZ AND SCOTT MELTON (NOT PIC)
Gary Shultz and Scott Melton took third place with three bass weighing 9.01 pounds. Their big bass weighed 3.70 pounds.
Next week's Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament, August 14th., will be hosting the Bass Cat Quest incentive program. If you own a Bass Cat Boat you need to show up, you never know, you might walk away with additional money from Bass Cat Boats if you win the tournament.
Free entry for next week's Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament was drawn by the team of Scott, Sr. and Scott, Jr. Danek.
