It
was a typical early spring bite, good until it got dark. The lake has
good color with an average surface water temperature of 52 to 55 degrees
in the mid lake area and Glaize arm. There weren't many bass caught ,
but the fish that were caught came mainly on jigs and spinner baits.
There's a lot of moss on the shoreline out to about four or five feet,
which makes it almost impossible to throw a crank bait without bring in a
glob of moss.
There were four bass
weighing 5 pounds or better, but on average the bass brought to the
scales didn't weigh much more than 2 1/2 pounds. Of the nineteen teams
only six teams weighed in their catch.
1st. Roger Cook & Mike Hutton 5 Bass 14.49 lbs.
2nd. Scott, Sr. & Scott,Jr. Danek 4 Bass 14.06 lbs.
3rd. Scott Stonitsch & "Pug" Bledsoe 3 Bass 13.04 lbs.
Big Bass of the tournament weighed in at 5.87 pounds and was caught by the team of Scott, Sr. and Scott, Jr, Danek.
