Despite the high winds and thunderstorms predicted by the weather bureau for the lake area, thirty-nine teams decided that would not stop them from fishing the Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament. The first hour or so of the tournament the rain and high winds blew through the lake, and that really turned the bass on.
Of the thirty-nine teams fishing, twenty teams brought limits to the scales. There were fourteen bass over 4 pounds weighed, three weighed over 5 pounds and two over 6 pounds. Big bass of the tournament weighed 6.30 pounds caught by the team of Chuck Beckum and Pete Bellington.
The bite continues to be plastics, jigs and spinner bait. Some anglers reported getting a top water bite.
Free entry for next weeks Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament was drawn by the team of Chad Green and Robbie Robinson.

Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament 5/18
Although there was a threat of thunderstorms 44 teams ignored the forecast for the opportunity to bring the heaviest five fish limit to the 10:00 P.M. Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament weigh-in. Luckily the rains did not hit the lake area or at least PB#2 until the weigh-in was completed and the anglers were heading home.
Lake of the Ozarks has been on a slow steady rise and the bite has been good, but the big bass are still far and few between. In the mid lake area, the bass are being caught on plastics, jigs and spinner baits from 7 to 12 feet. The majority of anglers reported catching a limit of keepers in the 2 to 2 1/2 pound range, but no kicker to put them in the hunt.
Nine bass over 4 pounds were brought to the scales, two were over 5 pounds and one unit tipped the scales at 6.63 pounds and was caught by the team of Jess Grizzell and Jerry Guffey.
Free entry for next weeks Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament was drawn by the team of Marty "Ski" and Jamey Bryant.
For a bonus, Nicky Winn of Tom's Slaughter and Meat Processing, located on A Road, donated two seperate 10 pound containers of beef sausage sticks to the 7th place team.

Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament 5/11
Another good turn out for the Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament mainly because the weather was perfect, no rain, the sun was shinning and it was warm. Forty teams launched out of PB#2 at 6:30 P.M. and would return at 10:00 P.M. with confidence they would have five bass that would beat the thirty-nine other teams. Of course that is not always the case, especially last night.
The big bite of 5 to 7 pounds largemouth was not as good as expected. There were only five bass over 4 pounds brought to the scales, one of which weighed 5.22 pounds for big bass of the tournament. The anglers reported catching a lot of non-keepers 14 to 14 1/2 inches, but very few keepers 3 pounds or better.
Some bass have spawned, but the majority of bass are locked in on beds, which could explain the lack of lunkers being caught. The bite continues to be plastics, jigs and spinner bait worked 6 to 10 feet on spawning banks. The night bite continues to be very slow at least from 8:30 P.M. to the 10:00 P.M. weigh-in.
Big Bass of the tournament weighed 5.22 pounds and was caught by the team of Eric and Troy Wiethrop.
Free entry for the next Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament was drawn by the team of J.D. Mitchell and Justin Young.

Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament 5/4
The last three Wednesday nights have been cold and miserable, but warmer weather finally arrived and that brought 41 teams out to fish the Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament.
It appears the majority of bass have finally gone to the beds, which might explain the reason the 6 and 7 pounders are far and few between and not being brought to the scales like they were two weeks ago. Last night there were only eight bass over 4 pounds weighed in. Three bass weighed over 5 pounds and one topped the scales at 6.33 pounds for big bass of the tournament.
The night bite is still slow and to most of the anglers there is no night bite at all, but as always some anglers manage to catch a keeper or two. The most productive baits have been plastics and jigs. Some bass are being caught on spooks, but not real consistent.
1st. Chad Green & Robby Robinson 5 Bass 23.02 lbs.
2nd. Shawn Kowal & Mike Hill 5 Bass 19.79 lbs.
3rd. Marty "Ski" & Jamie Bryant 5 Bass 16.42 lbs.
4th. Roger & Corey Cook 5 Bass 15.29 lbs.
5th. Marcus Sykora & Chcuk Knight 5 Bass 14.95 lbs.
Free entry was drawn for next weeks Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament by the team of Bill Cassidy and Andy Mostajo.
